May this poem help you to remember a
pet once lost and take comfort in knowing that you
will once again be reunited!!
"Rainbow Bridge"
Just this side of
heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal
dies that has been especially close to someone
here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are
meadows and hills for all of our special friends
so they can run and play together. There is
plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our
friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals
who had been ill and old are restored to health
and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are
made whole and strong again, just as we remember
them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for
one small thing; they each miss someone very
special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and
play together, but the day comes when one
suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His
bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying
over the green grass, his legs carrying him
faster and faster.
You have been
spotted, and when you and your special friend
finally meet, you cling together in joyous
reunion, never to be parted again. The happy
kisses rain upon your face; your hands again
caress the beloved head, and you look once more
into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone
from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross
Rainbow Bridge together....

"Roxy"
July 2006

We wanted to share our pics of our
companion of more than 13 years, Roxy was a big part
of our family, she was the family guardian angel,
she watched over us in every way, she was always
there when you felt down or were sick, we could
always count on her for whatever. There was one time
our home was broken into, and she stayed with our
young son, whom was freaked out due to the house
alarm going off. Well maybe she was as scared as our
son!! Recently we got a new puppy, her name is Tara,
she is a "Pitbull", Roxy went from an old dog to a
young pup again, although it was only for 7 months,
we can also add to her many talents, which now
include being a "mom" which she never had the
opportunity to be, I could go on and on but i think
you as dog lovers get the just of it, I will end
with saying, Roxy we miss you and love you
very much, your proud parents.

"Romeo"
May 2006

Romeo our
cover kitty for our 2006 calendar passed
away suddenly, either by seizure or a heart
condition that the vets believe to be a
birth defect. Romeo was in his foster home
since he was only 5-6 weeks old, he came to
our rescue with his mom and brother. Mona
(still waiting for her forever home) was
really attached to her son, they were
inseparable. Romeo is missed by all the
volunteers but especially by his foster
family who cared for him for a full year.
When Romeo and his family came into rescue
they were fighting a couple of upper
respiratory diseases because they were never
vaccinated, just thrown on the street like
garbage. We feel at peace knowing that Romeo
did not suffer, and that he had a good
“kitten-hood” of playing with the other
foster cats (sometimes other
kittens) and chasing the dogs. |
"Magnum"
May 7 2004 - Feb 02 2006

He got
dealt a bad hand, he tried to bluff his way through
and tell us he wasn’t hurting. We were willing to do
anything for him and all the surgeries in the world
to make him feel better but I think he knew that his
time with us was up and he didn’t want us and him to
go through all that. We loved him like a son and he
will always be remembered!!! I have never cried so
much in my life, I cry for him daily but it’s
getting better each day, less tears turn to smiles
as I kiss his puppy picture on the wall and say hey
buddy!!. We are keeping his ashes and putting some
at the lake and some in
my
parent’s back yard!! Two places that he loved to be
the most….
We fostered and then adopted a puppy from the Second
Chance Pet Rescue.
His name is Blues (blues clues) on the count of his
ears look like him; he is an
Australian Shepard/
Dobbi
cross... He is doing well, its hard going through
puppy training again, but he is a smart dog and
catching on… Magnum and blue got along great for the
month they were together. They played and had fun!!!
I believe that Magnum sent Blues to us, taught him
the ropes and then said good-bye…
"We will
never forget you"
Love
Mommy, Daddy and Blues
A very special thank you to all the
staff at
Birchwood Animal Hospital and especially Dr.
Schott for all his help and advice!
Please
enjoy our memorial video of Magnum and celebrate in
his life!

"Cougar" April 2004 -
September 27 2004
He came to us from Second Chance Pet Rescue
All battered and bruised,
Missing a baby tooth, You see........ He was abused.
If he could have talked, We would know more of his story,
His life in an alley, Had no glory. A kind man found him and brought him to
Courtney,
And she asked us to take care of him,
And we said "alright....... for a short time only". Well....... We were only
going to Foster him,
till he found a good home.
But our two cats Jesse and Sadie,
Had plans of their own! They took him under their wing,
Right from day one, They cleaned and cuddled him
like he was their son. We followed their lead,
and claimed him as our own,
And we believe he had 3 wonderful months,
In our loving home. He was so shy, so quiet so sweet,
His Meow was so timid, He sounded so meek. Even so, my Daughter named him
Cougar,
due to his Cougar-like nose and ears,
For he had the courage of a lion,
In spite of his man caused fears. Every night I held him in my arms,
and I'd pat his soft fur,
And said, "We love you Cougar"
And I'd listen to his purr. As time went on,
We noticed he was losing his will,
And the Spay and Neuter Clinic,
Confirmed that he was very ill. A tumor mass, on his kidney,
It didn't look good.
We didn't want him to suffer,
And I believe that he understood. You see I made a promise to him,
That no one would ever harm him again,
And I didn't want him to be in pain,
for he was such a dear friend. We loved him so much,
and had so little time,
The way he was abused before he came to us,
Was such a crime. I can now keep my promise,
He will never again be harmed.
For I know he will always be
In God's loving Arms. Please give all your pets a great big hug tonight, and
tell them that they are loved!
We'd like to thank Courtney Voth and The Spay and Neuter
Clinic for all their kindness and understanding!

"Nevada" February 13, 1998 - January 24, 2005
In July 2003, Nevada was diagnosed with lymphosarcoma. Under
the tender and careful guidance of Dr. Frank Nichols, he had over a year in
remission. He had good health during this time and enjoyed all his usual
activities. Since coming out of remission in October, he continued on, still
enjoying life.
Nevada had a very happy disposition and greeted everyone with
a friendly wag of his tail and tennis ball in his mouth. He would be your friend
for life if only you would throw his tennis ball for him. He was pure Golden
through and through - in personality and characteristics. In true
Retriever-style, he loved to play ball, swim, and go for long walks with his
doggie friends. Since moving to Brandon, he also participated in agility,
flyball, and obedience classes. He was extremely smart. He was accepting of all,
including the three cats he shared his home with (altho' he never quite
understood them, he tolerated them) and the many foster dogs that entered our
home temporarily. He was a real charmer, endearing everyone he met. He has left
paw prints on the hearts of all who knew him.
Deeply missed and fondly remembered by Cheryl and his furry
friends Lilly, Charlie, Scratch, and Quincy.
