A non-profit, no kill, all volunteer animal rescue organization

Thanks for visiting Second Chance Pet Rescue’s website, there have been a few changes over the past year.

Second Chance Pet Rescue has gone back to being a small rescue organization only taking in 1 or 2 dogs at a time.
Dedicating ourselves to herding/working breeds, specifically Australian Cattle Dogs. We are only taking in dogs with solid temperaments (no aggression issues) and dogs that have been vet checked prior to surrendering. This is to insure that the small amount of dogs we are able to help do not stay in rescue for too long, therefore we can rescue more.

Unfortunately incredibly high vet bills have put SCPR too far in debt; we can no longer save dogs with medical problems.

SCPR is dedicated to saving local Australian Cattle Dogs with the occasional dog from either other provinces or northern US states.

Australian Cattle Dogs and most other herding breeds usually do not make great house pets. These are dogs that were bred to work all day long, and work hard. If you are looking at one of SCPR dogs available make sure to research the breed as much as possible before contacting us.

Courtney Voth a professional dog trainer (www.dograssi.com) personally gets to know all the dogs available for adoption and places them in homes with the most fitting lifestyle for that particular dog.
